New appliances now come with Bonjour support built in. This allows you to easily find your appliance when you plug it into your network. Forget about bothering your network administrator to find out your IP address. Here’s a quick primer on how to take advantage of this new nifty feature.
Plug in your new appliance to your network and turn it on. Ensure that your network cable is plugged in to at least one of the two network interfaces provided. Then from your computer, use your Bonjour browser to connect to the appliance.
OS X, Windows and Linux all have a bonjour browser available to help you find these appliances. Here’s what it looks like in Safari running in OS X.

Here are more details to help you discover the appliance in your network.
On OS X, start up Safari, and expand your bookmarks so they show on the sidebar; click Bookmarks then click on Show all Bookmarks. You will then see Bonjour, see figure 1. On the right you’ll notice that you have Mirth Appliances listed, you can now double-click on that and your browser will automatically take you to the Control Panel’s login page.
If you are using Windows, Apple has released a bonjour client for Windows. If you are on a linux workstation, you may use Avahi.
Bonjour support was introduced in version 2.3.3 of our control panel which comes bundled with all Mirth Appliances. If you don’t have the latest version for your appliance, you can do a system update via the control panel to get the latest and greatest software available.
